This tasty beverage is nutrient-dense and filled with great fats to nourish yourself and your darling little baby.  This is also filled with foods to promote fertility.  Check out the yummy variations below (ice cream!).  Go ahead and make a bigger batch for the whole family, they’ll love it!

Mama Milkshake
1 c. Whole, Raw Milk
2 Tbsp. Cream
1 Tbsp. Maple Syrup or Sucanat
1 or 2 Egg Yolks, raw from a good source, pastured
1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
2 Tbsp. Coconut Oil, melted
Whipped Cream, recipe below (optional, but so yummy!)

In a blender combine all the ingredients except coconut oil.  Blend until smooth, about 10 seconds.

Without turning blender off, pour in coconut oil so that it incorporates well.  Alternately you can whisk all the ingredients in a bowl.

Pour into cup, and top with optional whipped cream (see recipe below).

Molasses Milkshake: Omit vanilla and sweetener from recipe and add 2 Tbsp. Molasses (Molasses is high in iron and is good for treating anemia).

Fruit Milkshake: to the recipe add 1 c. frozen fruit of choice to blender.

Chocolate Milkshake: to the recipe add 1 Tbsp. Cocoa Powder.

Egg Nog: to recipe add another egg yolk, tiny pinch of nutmeg (try clove and cinnamon with it, too!).  Freshly grate nutmeg on top of the whipped cream.  Great on a hot day!  This is also good for an illness.

Ice Cream: Make a double batch of any of the above milkshake recipes but omit coconut oil and add 1-2 Tbsp. more sucanat or syrup.  Make in your ice cream maker.

Whipped Cream
1/2 c. Cream
1/2 tsp. Vanilla

Combine in mixer and whip until peaks form.  Or you can whip by hand in a bowl with a wire whisk.
